Vets Film Workshop with TRP

Theatre Royal’s Our Space Veterans Create a Film

Fotonow recently partnered with Our Space, Theatre Royal Plymouth’s creative community programme, to deliver an Introduction to Filmmaking workshop for Veterans, delivered at TR2 in Cattedown.

The veterans involved got hands-on experience with our cameras, lighting, sound recording equipment, and editing software, while working on a series of interviews that told personal stories from their time in the services.

The workshop helped participants build confidence as they learned to use the film equipment and explore the different stages of production. We celebrated the project together with a screening of the group’s finished film at TR2, which was a great moment for everyone involved!

Each participant also got to take away their interview footage, many were keen to keep on practising their editing!

A big thank you to Theatre Royal Plymouth and the Our Space team, Tip Cullen and Becky Omerod, and everyone at TR2 for the space to create! A big well done to all the wonderful veterans who took part!
