Photography Pilot for SEND Youth
Celebrating the Creative Media for SEND Youth Photography Group

We had an ace time celebrating the completion of our pilot “Creative Media For SEND Youth” photography project! This fantastic project, part of a commission by Plymouth City Council, ran for six weeks, culminating in an exhibition and celebration at Fotonow .
Each week, ten keen young participants explored different aspects of photography, supported by our Fotonow staff. The sessions covered a wide array of topics, including technical aspects like aperture and shutter speed, along with lighting, and key elements of composing images.
The feedback from our participants and their parents has been really positive! One parent noted an improvement in their child’s confidence, while another appreciated the opportunity for their child to make new friends.
The celebration event was a fun gathering with participants, families, and Plymouth City Council youth workers. Each participant proudly displayed their work and received certificates for their efforts.
Looking ahead, we are excited to be running four one-day masterclass sessions over the summer and will resume weekly evening sessions in late September.
