Action for Children

Summer photography workshop in Torpoint

28th August 2024

It was really great to make the most of a wet grey August day and run a photography session for young people in South East Cornwall. The session began at Torpoint Council Chambers with an intro to digital photography and teaching how to use DSLR cameras. We then headed out for a photography walk to Thanckes Park and after making lots of amazing images we all had an amazing little picnic. The

We had staff from Action for Children, who run the local youth sessions, join us and encourage young people to have a go at learning photography. Everyone had great fun making images, focusing on the nature in the park as well as photographing the local cats along the way! We had our latest volunteer Daisy joined us (thanks so much) and supported everyone in trying to get the best out of their camera and to think about what they really wanted to capture.

Action for Children are looking to build youth groups across South East Cornwall and their new youth worker Natalie is really keen to see new faces take part, to find our more contact Natalie.Griffin@actionforchildren.org.uk

We’ll hopefully be back to run some more workshops soon and also hope to link up with some of the young people looking to get a new skatepark for the town. There is currently a community survey to help inform the skatepark project, if you want to have your say then complete the survey here; https://tinyurl.com/5n8rzsx9

Finally, any organisations that are interested in booking Fotonow for a workshop please just get in touch with us on info@fotonow.org
