South West Graduate Photography Prize

This initiative emerged as a means for Fotonow to support recent graduates from Higher Education institutions in the South West region. A non-profit making project, the aim is to bring greater recognition to high-quality photographic studies and practice emerging from photography programmes, with ambitions to offer a platform for individuals to build from during an uncertain period (the recent graduate). Fotonow are developing the graduate prize which enters it fifth year next year, involving; Falmouth University, University of Gloucestershire, Arts University Bournemouth, Plymouth University, University of St Mark and St John, Plymouth College of Art, Bath Spa University and the University of the West of England for more information follow us on; facebook.com

SWGPP 2015

South West Graduate Photography Prize 2015 ran during PHOTOBLOCK at Old Truman Brewery from 9 Oct 2015 – 11 Oct 2015 - featuring Joseph Ball, Caitlin Chescoe, Simeon Meinema, Sarah Rémy-Mitchelson, Jessica Leonard and Dominic Till. SWGPP 2013

The fourth year of Fotonow's annual South West Graduate Photography Prize, exhibition at Vyner Street Gallery (London). Featuring; Katy Brothers, Sydney Cunningham, Katie Emmett, Patrick Graham, India Pocock, Matthew Sheather and Nicholas White. The winner Nicholas White was selected to work in Bristol in 2014 on a joint commission with Fotonow CIC and Knowle West Media Centre.

SWGPP 2012

The third year of Fotonow's annual South West Graduate Photography Prize, exhibition at Vyner Street Gallery (London) showing six artists emerging for HE institutions in the SW region. Curated by 2010 winner Celine Smith, who organised fund-raising and production of the show, with support from Fotonow CIC. Featuring; Adam Pedley, Emilia Mosio, Philip Shannon, Chris Hoare, Jo Filer-Cooper and Mark Perham. The winner Mark Perham was selected to work on a commission with Knowle West Media Centre (who partner the 2012 prize).

The second year of Fotonow's annual South West Graduate Photography Prize, exhibition at The Create Place (London). Work was selected based on quality of ideas and pertinence to the region. Featuring; Emma Walker, Rugile Zukaite, Fabio Blaser, Ibolya Feher, Lous Little and Luke Archer. The winner Ibolya Feher was selected to work on a commission with Fotonow in 2012.
